Alternative Ending Exercise

In story, Peter, Mia and Emily visit Jupiter, Saturn and Mars before the ships damaged navigation brings them home to Earth.

The Alternative Ending Exercise is a multi-diciplinary exercise where the teens visit more planets before finally reaching Earth.

Students are guided step-by-step writing their alternative exercise.

Step 1
The first part is the space ship comes out of a wormhole above a planet.   Use the wormhole worksheet to start writing this part.

Step 2
Have student choose one or more planets for Peter Emily and Mia to visit. Students research the planet and complete the Planet Report Worksheet for one or more planets.

Step 3
Have the students build up the story in point form.  Use the Character Worksheets to help build up the story.

Now students have written some notes about when the space ship comes out of the wormhole, decided what planet they will be at, and written some descriptive notes about the planet, and selected some character interactions.

With these three together, they are ready to write an alternative ending.
